I Stayed at Anawa Krabi’s Private Villa – and Didn’t Want to Leave
I didn’t expect to fall in love with a bathtub. But here we are.
Tucked away just outside the busier part of Ao Nang, Anawa Krabi is one of those places you randomly find online and hope it lives up to the photos. Spoiler: it does—and then some. Especially if you book the private villa. That’s where the magic happens.
First Impressions
The moment I stepped into the hotel, I felt my shoulders drop. You know that feeling when a place just gets it right? Earthy colors, wooden textures, natural light pouring in—it was calm, minimal, and beautiful without trying too hard. The hotel itself was an absolute dream, the kind of place where you immediately feel at peace. The moment I entered, I was struck by the cozy warmth of the space—it embraced me like a second home. Every detail was thoughtfully designed, with natural materials that made it feel both luxurious and effortlessly comfortable. The view? Green jungle and those dramatic Krabi cliffs peeking in the distance. Absolutely breathtaking. The lobby was surrounded entirely by mountains, making the entire space feel incredibly secluded and serene. The lounge area was equally stunning, with a beautiful pool that added to the tranquil vibe, offering the perfect spot to unwind and simply enjoy the beauty of the surroundings.
The Stone Bathtub I Still Think About
Okay. Let’s talk about the bathtub.
The villa had not just one, but three ways to wash your worries away: an elegant indoor rain shower, a refreshing outdoor shower nestled in greenery, and the star of the show—a huge stone bathtub big enough to fully stretch out and soak. The morning sun would gently pour into the space, lighting up the steam and dancing across the water. It became my favorite place to breathe, pause, and just be. There was something so calming, almost meditative, about it all. Honestly? I caught myself wanting to wash up three times a day—just for the excuse to step back into that moment of stillness and beauty.
The Private Pool Vibe
There’s also a private pool, and it’s exactly what you imagine it to be: quiet, clean, and all yours. Morning dips became a ritual—refreshing, peaceful, and the perfect way to start the day. In the evenings, I’d float in the still water, eyes on the sky as it melted into soft pinks and golds behind the cliffs. It felt like pure luxury, but in a completely unpretentious, grounded way. Sometimes, if I looked far into the distance, I’d catch a glimpse of a local car slowly rolling down the red dirt road, a soft reminder that the world still moved out there. But most of the time, there was just silence. Just me, the water, and maybe a tiny lizard sunbathing on a rock—if even that.
Separate Living Room for Ultimate Comfort
The living room area was just as impressive, offering a separate, cozy space to unwind after a day of exploration. A massive sofa sat in the center of the room, inviting you to curl up and relax. Whether you wanted to sip on a cocktail, catch up on a book, or simply enjoy the serene surroundings, this space was the perfect spot to kick back and fully immerse yourself in relaxation. The earthy tones and minimalist design made it feel warm and welcoming, like a home away from home.
A Breakfast to Remember
I looked forward to the breakfast—it was nothing short of amazing. The restaurant’s open-air design added to the relaxed vibe as I indulged in a spread that was both local and fresh. From juicy exotic fruits to American breakfast staples like yogurt, cereal, toast, and a perfectly cooked omelette, every dish was full of flavor. I couldn’t resist the smoothie bowls packed with vibrant, healthy ingredients. If you’re someone who loves variety, the breakfast offered a mix of Western and Thai-inspired options, with plenty of choices to start your day off right.
And if you wanted to enjoy it all in the privacy of your villa? No problem. You could take your meal to go and have it delivered straight to your door.
Throughout the day, we indulged in authentic Thai dishes like Pad Kra Pao and Pad Thai, savoring the bold, flavorful spices that Thai cuisine is known for. For late-night snacks, the villa offered pizza, sandwiches, and a variety of mocktails and cocktails—perfect for relaxing while enjoying a peaceful evening. You could even enjoy these drinks while lounging in the stone bathtub, creating an incredibly chill and indulgent experience that felt like a dream come true.
Lounge Area: Where Comfort Meets Style
The lounge and dining area are perfect spots to unwind during the day or enjoy a relaxed evening. The open-air lounge had a laid-back yet stylish vibe, making it the ideal place for a sunset cocktail or casual conversation. It was just the right balance of luxury and comfort, with the kind of ambiance that encourages slow moments and restful enjoyment. The dining area was perfect for intimate meals, where you could enjoy delicious dishes while soaking in the peaceful, natural surroundings.
Designed for Doing Nothing (In the Best Way)
This place isn’t about crazy amenities or over-the-top service. It’s quiet luxury. Simple, peaceful, and designed for people who appreciate thoughtful spaces. I spent my mornings journaling on the outdoor lounger with a cup of coffee, and afternoons wandering through Ao Nang or hopping on a longtail boat.
Coming back to the villa each time felt like returning to a secret little sanctuary.
Final Thoughts
If you’re looking for a quiet, beautifully designed place to recharge, I can’t recommend Anawa Krabi’s villa enough. Whether you're traveling solo, with your partner, or just need a break from the noise, this is a space where you can breathe.
Just… book it. And take a shower under the sky for me.
